Generally, the value of the facility will have been paid for through the service fee and the private party can make no claim for payment for the assets upon their transfer to government. However, depending on the nature of the asset, its projected residual value and which party has assumed the end of term asset risk, a pre-determined amount may be payable to the private party by government for the facility.
