Behave ethically

All negotiations should be conducted in a fair and ethical manner and in such a way that all parties are treated fairly. It is important that no one party is put at a disadvantage and that there should be no suggestion of bias or distrust.

Negotiators should have particular regard to the APS Code of Conduct and APS Values73 as well as any agency-specific guidelines on behaving ethically, including disclosure of conflict of interests. In particular, the acceptance of gifts, hospitality or other benefits during a tender process is not appropriate; this should be made clear at the start of the procurement process and confirmed at the commencement of negotiations.

The acceptance of gifts, hospitality or other benefits during a tender process is not appropriate.
