Current major project issues fall within the following categories: • Technical performance short falls; • Schedule delays; and • Contract management. Technical performance shortfalls arise due to some sub-systems not meeting contracted performance requirements. Notwithstanding striking a revised schedule baseline in the commercial settlement agreed in November 2009, schedule delays continue to be encountered. A new schedule baseline was struck in the commercial settlement agreed in April 2011. Contract management issues relate to: • Schedule delays arising out of problems associated with subsystem maturity and stability and integrated system performance. • Ramping up of In Service Support Contract. | Engage and influence the prime contractor and major sub-contractors under an incremental delivery approach to maintain appropriate focus and commitment to deliver contracted performance in accordance with the revised schedule. Maintain engagement with the prime contractor to achieve alignment of in-service support with the incremental delivery of aircraft and associated support equipment. |
