There may be a need for other components of the Unitary Charge to allow for miscellaneous payments that may arise for various reasons, including project specific reasons. The components will therefore vary from project to project. However, it is likely that in most projects there will be a need to allow for payments or deductions in relation to:
• National Non-Domestic Rates;
• Land rental;
• Changes in insurance premia falling to the Authority in accordance with SoPC4;
• Changes in landfill tax rates; and
• Ad hoc waste.
For RWTPs, Contractors may propose that Utilities (essentially in this context the use of electricity) are treated as a pass-through cost. This issue is specifically addressed in Section 7.4.5 footnote 11 of SoPC4.
