PPPUE

PPPUE is a multi-partner facility that developing countries use to obtain support in their efforts to define, promote and implement PPPs to reduce poverty at the local level. Initiated by the UNDP in 1994 following the Rio Summit, PPPUE adopted in 2001 a new Programme Platform approach. The PPPUE objective is to increase the access of the urban poor to basic urban services by promoting collaboration between government, business and civil society organizations. Since 2001, two main mechanisms have enabled PPPUE to achieve its objectives, namely the Global Learning Network, and the Innovative Partnerships Grant (IPG).
