There are several achievements made in the provision of water services through the project:
o Institutional framework developed at different levels for water service delivery to the poor through PPP approach. 3 important institutions were established: the Standpipe Management Working Group, the national permanent Water and Sanitation Working Group, and Community (local) Water Committees.
o Individual standpipe operators were designated and trained to operate as small businesses, in which risks and responsibilities with the private water company and public sector are shared.
o Improved accessibility to affordable water by the urban poor.
