Sustainability and Replicability

The creation and work of the permanent committees established at each municipality has helped secure local ownership of the programme activities and created a sustainable institution with local legitimacy, which can carry over programme activities once PPPUE phases out.

Internal and external exposures to PPP practices have been successful as capacity building tool. Increased focus will therefore be given to internal exposure, which will allow an easy replication of local best practices.

Recognized by PPPUE was that Secondment of staff should be in parallel to additional capacity building activities of selected staff in the partner organizations. Therefore PPP desks were set up in these organizations, with a broader group of people responsible for PPP. The desks will eventually function as sustainable support units, which will gradually take over programme activities.
