CR: I worked for a Liberal Government in Nova Scotia that was very pro-PPP. The current BC Liberal Party began the country's first major PPP program. The Ontario Liberal Government is in the midst of the country's largest PPP program known as Alternative Finance and Procurement. PPP in New Brunswick has weathered a change in government. The federal Conservative Party is a very strong supporter of PPP. So where you would think that mainly a Conservative Government would support the continuation of a PPP type of infrastructure development, it doesn't always happen that way. So sometimes it's just that PPPs are seen as being a smarter way to develop much-needed infrastructure and ideology doesn't factor into it. But I think most politicians also don't believe that PPP is the answer to everything - they realise that they only work for certain types of projects and in certain circumstances.
