Innovation has become an important driver behind contract performance improvements with 60% of respondents saying new ways of working have helped them over-deliver.
In most cases, such enhancements have not meant an increase in costs. In some, it has resulted in cost savings. For the future success of PFI, it is important that contracts should be flexible enough to provide for, indeed encourage, innovation and to allow for the sharing of the benefits it brings to both parties.
