1.7 A report by the Committee of Public Accounts published in July 20116 welcomed the direction and principles of the Strategy but described it as 'very ambitious'. The Committee noted that government had previously tried to deliver better outcomes for the public and businesses, and significantly reduce operational costs, using ICT. The Committee was concerned that the Strategy would deliver no greater benefits than its predecessors, given its lack of detail. Appendix Three lists the Committee's recommendations in full.
