The price of BSF schools compared to the price of Academies and PFI schools built before the BSF programme

This figure shows that there is a great deal of variation in the individual price of each school depending on the type of site and facilities included, but that the prices of BSF schools are not significantly difference from PFI schools and generally less than Academies. The price is shown as capital cost to the public sector, adjusted for annual price inflation and location to allow a better comparison. The figure excludes refurbishments, because they vary too much in the amount of work undertaken to allow a comparison.
