5.7 The Treasury Taskforce, formed in 1997, provided departments with highly skilled procurement and project management advice, reducing procurement delays and helping to design robust projects. Following the advice of the second Bates Review in 1999 the Government re-established the Treasury Taskforce as Partnerships UK, a public private partnership with a public interest mission to make the public sector a more effective client in public private partnership and PFI transactions.
