3.4.3  Confidentiality and conflicts of interest

It is important to obtain adequate confidentiality undertakings from advisers. This includes agreement that the information made available to them during the project will not be used in the context of any other exercise. For example, the adviser assists a potential proponent during a bid process, where the adviser was contracted to government in the earlier stages of the project. It is also important to ensure that the firm does not have any existing or potential conflicts of interest and/or has established processes for dealing with any potential conflicts that may arise.
