By 2010, $11.4 billion for public transit, highways, borders and other transportation
| Much of Ontario's economic success depends on public transit to move people to and from work efficiently; on a dependable highway system that moves goods to market reliably and safely; and on well-organized border crossings that give us access to our largest trading partner. Ontario's provincial highway network is made up of 16,520 kilometres of highways and 2,800 bridges; goods worth $1.2 trillion are transported on this network each year. Public transit systems are essential to maintain our quality of life. And border crossings are the gateways to our biggest international markets. The expansion and maintenance of these assets are essential to our economy and our quality of life. They are also critical for our economic success. |
