Relieving border congestion:

• The Province will participate with the federal government, local municipalities and other agencies in partnerships that will invest a total of $638 million to relieve congestion at border crossings. This will include improvements that will reduce traffic on local streets and roads around border crossings.

• These investments will support improvements at the Windsor Gateway valued at $300 million, others valued at $323 million for the Niagara and Sarnia border crossings and $15 million to improve access to the Sault Ste. Marie border.

• In addition to these investments, Ontario will fund an environmental assessment for a truck by-pass in Windsor, and up to $150 million toward its construction.

• These investments are just the start, particularly in Windsor, where planning for a new border crossing is progressing as quickly as possible.
