More than $1 billion for justice-sector infrastructure by 2010

A fair, effective, efficient and accountable justice system is fundamental to democracy. The government is committed to ensuring that Ontario's communities are supported and protected by law enforcement, judicial and corrections systems that ensure justice for all its citizens.

Although the addition of new police officers, the introduction of new forensic technologies and initiatives to separate youth from adults in justice facilities are all measures that protect the public and ensure fairness and safety for all Ontarians, other factors pose challenges in the justice sector.
