The Challenges: Crowded and aging courts and jails

•  Aging facilities lack the capacity to handle many of the new forensic technologies now available to apprehend and convict offenders.

•  In many parts of the province, correctional facilities and courts are old and need major repairs or replacement.

•  A growing population has put additional pressures on our court systems, creating backlogs in the administration of justice.
