Carlos Casas Tragodara

Principal Professor and Researcher at Universidad del Pacífico, Perú. B.A. in economics Universidad del Pacífico and M.A in economics, Georgetown University. Former Viceminister (Deputy Minister) of Economy of Perú during all 2010. He has had several official appointments since 2001 that include posts like Chief of Staff (Head of Advisors) of the Minister of Economy, advisor of the National Decentralization Council and Head of the Decentralization Team at the Prime Minister's Office.

His research areas are fiscal and tax policy, fiscal decentralization, public private partnerships, education and mining economics. He has been consultant for many multilateral institutions like The World Bank and the Inter American Development Bank as well as of bilateral institutions like USAID, German GIZ, Dutch SNV, European Commission among others. He is a member of the board of private enterprises (British American Tobacco - Perú) and public (National Authority of Civil Service) and academic organizations (Economic and Social Research Consortium) in Perú. He has been Head of the Economics Academic Department at Universidad del Pacífico as well.
