John has been a lead advisor for major transactions for the Victorian Government for over 16 years commencing with the electricity industry restructuring of the early 1990s and then advising the State in the CityLink and EastLink projects. John is currently lead advisor on the Victorian Desalination project.
John has been a long time lead transaction lawyer and financial advisor. He has advised on a range of privatisations and government concession arrangements. In addition, he has senior experience in the energy, transportation (including toll roads), water and social infrastructure, property and agriculture sectors. He has served for five-and-a-half years as Chairman of a Commonwealth statutory authority. In that capacity, he has represented the Authority before Senate Estimates Committee hearings and had specific statutory responsibilities under the Financial Management Act. John holds an LLB (First Class Hons), University of Melbourne, 1970 and an MBA Monash University, 1990.
