- Reshaping public housing stock to get housing of higher quality, in the right locations, and with a focus on the elderly and disabled.
- Purchasing more one and two bedroom dwellings that are close to services and jobs.
- In 2006-07 a total of 1,178 new public housing units, 200 new community housing units, 26 new crisis dwellings will be delivered. A further 5,300 new units are projected to be delivered by 2009.
- The redevelopment of the Bonnyrigg Living Communities Project, in partnership with the private sector, will provide a mix of upgraded public and private housing over 10 years.
- The Minto Estate will be redeveloped in a staged process over a period of 10 years.
- In 2006-07, $18 million will be spent completing 50 and commencing another 52 new dwellings for management by the Aboriginal Housing Office. Funding of $4 million will also be provided under the Housing for Aboriginal Communities Program in 2006-07 to allow the completion of eight dwellings and the commencement of 17 new dwellings.
