2.1 The Partners share a responsibility for and a commitment to the effective delivery of sustainable waste management services within [ ]. The Joint Waste Partnership was formed in recognition of a need for taking a wider view of waste issues and the benefits of partnership working in this field.
2.2 To implement the [ ] Municipal Waste Management Strategy the Partners recognise the need and benefits of closer partnership working and in particular to develop greater integration between the WDA and WCAs. The MoU provides the next step in the development of closer partnership working.
2.3 [[ ] County Council intends to publish a contract notice in the Official Journal of the European Union in order to seek expressions of interest in respect of a residual waste treatment contract [under the private finance initiative]. The Partners hereby recognise the need to work together to support this procurement.]5
