Social Aspects of the Arrangement

If a partnership aims to improve the physical and social wellbeing of poor urban households and communities, the scope and content of the arrangement and the method of carrying out tasks will need to be tailored to suit the requirements of poor users. The primary social aspects of the partnership arrangement described here supplement and extend the discussions on participatory processes and service options. They include:

•  equity and access to improved services;

•  integrating service delivery;

•  gender targeting of service delivery; and

•  fair treatment of workers.
