The MIIU was established by the government of South Africa to help municipalities to find innovative solutions to critical problems in the financing and management of essential municipal services such as water supply, sanitation, waste, energy and transport. These solutions include the involvement of new parties in service delivery in various forms of PPP arrangements. The MIIU provides assistance within South Africa.
