6.  PLANNING - PROJECT EXECUTION PLAN

The Project Execution Plan (PEP) is a critical construction phase master file which the Project Director is required to maintain throughout the construction period, although aspects of this may be delegated to the Technical Project Manager.

Guidance on the Project Execution Plan is available in PROCODE Section 1.6. An example of a typical Project Execution Plan is also provided in PROCODE 1.6.1.

Note:

A separate supplementary document to the Management of Construction Projects document is available specifically in relation to Project Execution Plan Roles, Responsibilities and Deliverables.

It incorporates and will build upon the Project Initiation Document (PID), Outline Business Case and Full Business Case developed and approved earlier in the project lifecycle. (See Programme and Project Organisation and Business Case sections for further details).

The Project Execution Plan must be kept up to date on an on-going basis and should be strictly version controlled with a clear date of issue for each version.

As a minimum the Project Execution Plan must include the following:

•  Project Directory & Contacts List Including all Project Stakeholders

•  Project Structure, Procedures and Governance

•  Change Control Procedure

•  Risk Management Procedure and Register

•  Procurement Strategy

•  'Base' Master Programme

•  Meeting Schedule

Note:

The Project Execution Plan should be updated to reflect work to date and proposed agreement to be made between the client and construction supply chain.
