In different workshop, seminars and consultative meetings key issues in PPPs were identified. These are explained briefly as follows:
• It is necessary to promote private sector participation in understanding, financing, constructing, and operating infrastructure projects through PPP.
• The relevant ministry has to give priority to land acquisition or other land related issues for PPP projects.
• It is necessary to expedite decisions in the investment process by resolving lengthy and complex inter-ministerial issues.
• There should be training for the Government officials to understand and manage PPP projects.
• Proper procedure is to be introduced to identify sufficient potential PPP projects in the pipeline.
