4.4  The benefits of a PPM approach

•  Effective PPM will enable more efficient use of scarce resources through project prioritisation and integration.

•  A PPM approach includes the overall management of quality, risk, communications and benefits whilst reconciling individual project objectives with overall programme goals.

•  Using a PPM approach ensures that control is established and the best possible alignment is achieved between external pressures and available resources.

•  A structured PPM approach ensures the interdependencies between projects are co-ordinated and the risks are managed across these interdependencies.
