6.5 Project Execution Phase

The Execution Processes are concerned with implementing and co-ordinating the approved and funded Project (Gateway 3). At this stage in the project lifecycle the Project Director will initiate the Project Execution Plan. This document will be based on and include the previously approved Project Initiation Document and will clearly identify any changes to this initial proposal.

A specific Project Execution Plan for NHS Construction Projects is detailed within the Procode Construction Procurement Guidance for NHSScotland. This document is continuation to the generic Project Initiation Document required for all infrastructure projects.

Further details on the execution phase of infrastructure projects are provided in the Management of Construction Processes section of SCIM.

The success of the execution phase is critically dependent upon the Control Processes.
