6.6.4  Appropriate levels and frequency of control

Control and reporting must be undertaken at a strategic programme level, at a project milestone level and at more detailed task completion level.

The frequency of these levels will be set by the Programme Board, depending on the risk rating of the project. Typically reporting at a strategic programme level may be on a quarterly basis, a milestone review on a monthly basis with detailed task reviews undertaken at Project Team level on a weekly exception basis.

It is essential that nay slippage in task completion is identified as early as possible, the impact assessed and mitigated where possible within the overall programme.

Any possibility of the end programme being delayed should be escalated to Programme/Project Board level.
