3.17 The decant process and commissioning of a new facility will take significant amounts of time. It will require close liaison between the Contractor, Users and Procuring Authority. For example, in the schools sector regular meetings and plans will require to be drawn up in the 2-3 months prior to the occupation of the school. There are likely to be weekly meetings between the operational managers who will co-ordinate the move. Regular meetings, on say a three week cycle, are likely to be required with the wider stakeholders including School/Hospital/other Representatives, Resource Officers and Deputy Heads. These wider meetings will cover issues such as construction updates, design, FF&E, ICT and decant. Provision should be made within budgets to allow for the additional time required to facilitate, manage and perform an efficient decant.
