A change in the law may make the project impossible to continue or more expensive for the Contractor to carry out. The Contractor is obliged to comply with changes in law and the Contract contains a procedure for dealing with this which is detailed in Appendix 1.
The costs of implementing change in law depend on the type of change of law. The Contract categorises "Changes in Law" and makes provisions for which party is responsible for the costs of each. More detail is contained in Appendix 1.
