6.2 A JWA will be a statutory body established for a specified area by an Order made by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. A JWA can be established to discharge all waste functions within a specified area, or can be for particular waste functions, i.e. the waste collection function, waste disposal function or street cleansing function.
