23  For projects in England, Scotland and Wales the majority of this cover is typically provided by the Government-backed market mutual reinsurer: 'Pool RE'. Pool RE does not provide protection for projects in Northern Ireland. However under the provisions of the Criminal Damage (Compensation) Northern Ireland Order 1977, these projects will instead benefit from compensation provided by the Northern Ireland Office (see SoPCNI Section 24.3). (Note: This does not preclude use of commercial insurance should it become available).
