| 273 District Councils within two tier (county council) areas, which have responsibility for collecting household waste in their area.

Enter into PFI contracts with local authorities to build and operate new infrastructure and in many cases manage waste. The main contractor may hold sub-contracts with construction companies, technology providers and waste collection contractors. |
