1.7  Security

The design process should ensure the operations and security of the buildings and their operation are maximised from the opportunities presented by the site, the building form and the proposed or revised layout. The location of functions within the Stations should be planned so that potential security hazards are minimised.

The Contractor should demonstrate the integration of active and passive security measures.

Certain specified areas of police Stations have particular security needs. These are described in the Zone Data Sheets and police specific requirements are considered in the Home Office - Police Buildings Design Guides.
