1.9 Demolition
The demolition of any existing Stations is to be carried out in accordance with good industry practice. Detailed method statements for any demolition works are to be submitted to the Authority by the Contractor for approval prior to work starting on site, it is though stressed that all risks and costs associated directly or indirectly with demolition shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
The Contractor is to satisfy itself whether any demolition works required as part of this project require planning consent. Where planning consent is required then the Contractor is to inform the Authority and also take the necessary steps to secure the necessary approvals.
Should demolition be proposed for only part of an existing building, the Contractor is to supply full details of all the implications of this upon the utility services, party walls and such like of the retained buildings, together with proof of all necessary permissions, within the method statements to be supplied. The Contractor shall ensure business continuity within the retained existing building(s) at all times unless specifically agreed in writing by the Authority.
