1.10  Temporary Accommodation

Where the contract includes, or the Contractor as part of its design solution proposes, a move into temporary accommodation, the Contractor must provide a detailed method statement including but not limited to the following:

 Location; having regard to maintenance of existing operational requirements and accessibility for both the public and the service;

 Stations; having regard to the range and type of operations and departments operating in the existing Stations;

 Standards; the space, availability and performance outputs to be achieved

 Security; the temporary accommodation must provide appropriate security; and

 Infrastructure; sufficient infrastructure and resilience of services to carry out existing normal and emergency operations.

The Contractor shall provide the detailed method statement to the Authority [three months] before any proposed decant into temporary accommodation4.

4 Specialist facilities such as custody suites, forensic laboratories and fire safety training facilities require detailed engineering solutions which may be difficult to achieve in temporary buildings.
