1.13.5  Staircases, ramps and handrails

Staircases should be designed, constructed and finished to provide a stable, even and well aligned appearance. Suitable rigid, balustrades and guards should be provided in accordance with Building Regulations.

Ramps must be constructed at the appropriate gradient, in accordance with the relevant statutory codes and building regulations5.
