1.13.18  Drainage Installations

The drainage systems provided must be hygienic and effectively and promptly dispose of waste water, surface water and any other liquid wastes permitted by the Water Authority. Alternative arrangements must be made for the effective and safe disposal of other liquid wastes, which are not permitted to be discharged into the public sewer.

Drainage systems for the external hard and soft surfaced areas must be designed and installed in such a manner so there is no standing water and so that the systems can accommodate flash storm discharge.

For the Fire and Rescue Authorities the drainage system to the training areas and rear of the appliance bays is to be capable of removing [2,250]8 litres of water per minutes run off. The systems design and installed for such purposes shall take into account that minimal surface water shall run off onto adjoining property.
