1.15.3  Electrical Services

The electrical services should comprise the design, installation, testing and commissioning of the following electrical services:

Incoming LV supply and metering equipment

 LV switchgear

 Sub-main distribution cables

 Internal lighting

 Emergency lighting

 External lighting

Small power to socket outlets, fixed items of equipment and mechanical plant

 Fire detection and alarm system

 Earthing and bonding

 Lightning protection

Telephone/Data system cableways and field wiring

 Intruder detection and alarm system

Access control and public address system (to be integrated and fully addressable)

 CCTV System

 Lift installation

 Disabled W/C assistance alarm

 Fire Suppression System (FM200)

 UPS Installation

Vehicle barriers and communications (for entrance control) to car parks etc.

The above list is not necessarily exhaustive.

The Contractor should provide all labelling, warning notices, health and safety notices, rubber matting, charts and schedules within all plant / switchrooms and other areas in the Stations or on Site where electrical services are carried out. The Zone Data Sheets contain information relating to the quantities of these items on a room by room basis.

Main switchboards, sectional switchboards and distribution boards shall be adequate in terms of all electrical and mechanical criteria. The switchgear shall provide for future extension affecting cabling and electrical loads up to a minimum of 20% above the base load for the completed buildings (unless consideration of the total anticipated future load and related tolerances suggests a greater requirement, in which case the higher spare capacity should be provided.)

The systems installed should allow for ease of movement within the building, allowing it to be internally reconfigurable swiftly, with low cost and low damage.
