3.3.3 Cleaning and Waste Management and Disposal

The Contractor is to ensure that the buildings and associated environs are kept safe, clean and tidy at all times.

The Contractor will provide a fully inclusive cleaning and waste collection service appropriate to the Authority's needs which shall comprise:

 General regular cleaning to all buildings that meets the required standards and frequency in this Output Specification.

 Periodic deep cleans of walls, floors and ceilings finishes to all buildings.

 Periodic deep clean of all kitchen equipment and associated ducting and hoods.

 Out of Hours reactive cleaning facility.

 Provision for 'Special Cleaning Procedures' for clearing up of blood and other bodily fluids to contaminated areas.

 Safe collection and disposal of contaminated waste.

 Safe collection and disposal of chemicals, motor vehicle parts etc.

 Safe retaining and removal of oil spillages to workshops, covered parking, car parks and fuel delivery areas.  

 The provision of consumables to support services (e.g., soap, towels and toilet paper, etc)

 Provision of suitable vending Stations (e.g., sanitary towels, etc)

 An environmentally friendly management of waste, including liaison with local authority in respect of waste disposal and removal.

 The safe removal and disposal of all kitchen, domestic and grounds waste.

 The safe removal of 'sharps', women's personal hygiene and clinical waste.

 The safe, removal, storage and shredding of confidential paper waste.

 A proactive approach to re-cycling matter, where applicable.
