1.2.9 Temporary Decant

The Authority recognises that in order to complete the Works decants may be required into temporary accommodation.

 The Contractor shall identify in their Construction Programme any required temporary decants.

 The Contractor shall provide full details of its proposals to the Authority, no less than [three] months before commencement of Works at the affected existing Stations, giving full details of arrangements for such decant with the submission of a Decant Programme.

 The works shall not be commenced and the decant shall not be affected without the approval of the Authority, which shall not be unreasonably withheld or delayed.

 The Contractor shall obtain the approval of the Authority as to the location of such temporary accommodation, which shall comply in all respects with the relevant zone data sheets and shall provide a full range of facilities appropriate for the use to which it is intended to be put unless agreed otherwise by both parties.  

 The Contractor shall be responsible for all arrangements in respect of, in preparation for and subsequent to all decants, including, but not limited to:-

 Providing boxes, tape and packing materials for the Authority to pack and unpack

 Removing and disposing of unwanted items [one] week in advance of the decant;

 Removing and disposing of all temporary accommodation

 before termination of the construction period; and

 Reinstating the site used for temporary accommodation to the satisfaction of the Authority and Planning Council, acting reasonably, in accordance with the Construction Programme.

In the event of a potential delay the Contractor shall provide no less than [two] Authority to determine weeks notice prior to the date of decant.

The Contractor shall have in place comprehensive insurance cover against injury to persons being decanted and damage to or theft of items being decanted.

The Contractor shall, for the avoidance of doubt, be responsible for all the costs of all Decants, including the costs arising out of the daily transport of staff and/or pupils to and from temporary accommodation.

The Authority shall:

 Label all boxes to be decanted;

 Put away and / or store unpacked items; and

 Identify and remove items required by other users, e.g. ICT equipment and services.
