2.2.3  Temperature hot water heating

Pipework systems serving radiators, or other heat emitters utilising thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) for temperature control, should be fitted with pressure relief valves connected between the flow and return pipework to ensure that the pressure drop across a closed TRV does not exceed the manufacturer's recommendations.

The pressure relief valve should be sized to ensure there is no pipe/valve noise in the system.

The main building heating plant should be installed in a plant room. The Contractor is advised to take whatever precautions are necessary to ensure that noise levels in occupied areas do not exceed those listed as allowable within this document.
