2.3.1 LV Switchgear
The main switch panel shall be of Form 4 assembly to BSEN 60439:1994 and be arranged to complement proposed incoming/outgoing cable connection configurations. Allow for providing a minimum 25%, with a minimum of 4No spare TP&N ways for future use.
The switch panel shall include instrumentation fitted within a dedicated chamber to include measurement between phases, and phase to neutral, of voltage, amperes and power factor indication. Metering/instrumentation shall be in accordance with BS89 (EN 60051) and suitably protected by local, separate fuses. Indicating scales shall comply with BS3693 with normal indication being 50% - 75% of full-scale deflection. Instrumentation shall be capable of viewing maximum current demand on each phase, real power (w), apparent power (va) and reactive power (val).
Current Transformers (CT's), where applicable, shall comply with BS 7626. CT's shall provide appropriate accuracy, be compatible with over current factors, characteristics and performance and be able to withstand maximum short time withstand current of value and duration recommended for assembly. Test links shall be provided in secondary connections of all CT's. The metering arrangement shall incorporate facilities for remote monitoring for billing and energy management.
