3.  The Process of Decant

3.1  The Contractor undertakes to minimise disruption to Tenants and their households and wherever possible to avoid the need for Decant.  Wherever possible, [Initial Refurbishment] Works will be programmed and scheduled to be completed as quickly as possible to ensure minimal loss of access to kitchens and bathrooms and other amenities in accordance with its responsibilities and obligations as set in the Output Specification and, generally, this Agreement.

3.1.1  It is the responsibility of the Contractor to conclude in every case whether the provision of temporary arrangements are suitable and appropriate and to meet its health and safety obligations.

3.1.2  The Contractor is aware that Decanting people from their own dwelling into temporary accommodation can be extremely stressful and a source of long term worry (especially for the elderly), and as such the Contractor will aim to minimise the incidence of Decanting.
