64.1  Requirement to Maintain

64.1.1  The Contractor shall, in relation to a Station, prior to the carrying out of any building or demolition work on a Site, take out and maintain or procure the maintenance of the insurances described in Part 1 of Schedule14 (Insurances) and any other insurances as may be required by law.  These insurances must be effective in each case not later than the date on which the relevant risk commences; and

64.1.2  The Contractor shall, in relation to each Station, during the Service Period take out and maintain or procure the maintenance of the insurances described in Part 2 of Schedule 14 (Insurances) and any other insurances as may be required by law.181

181 These are the operational insurance and must be necessary insurances only.  In some projects the operational phase may overlap with the construction phase (e.g. a grouped Stations project) and insurance requirements will need to be tailored accordingly.
