16.3.5 Acceleration
If the progress of the works is delayed by a Relief Event, government will have the option (at its cost) of requiring the private party to accelerate the works instead of extending time to the extent that this is physically possible (refer to Chapter 19 (Modifications)).54

54 In some jurisdictions, Compensation will be calculated in manner consistent with the principles set out in Chapter 18 (Compensation payable), whereby government will pay for the private party's incremental costs (but with no allowance for a profit margin by the private party). In other jurisdictions, Compensation for acceleration will be calculated on the basis that the acceleration is a Modification (which may include an allowance for profit margin).
