64.7  Notification of Claims

The Contractor shall:

64.7.1  give the Authority notification within ten (10) Business Days after any claim in excess of [ten thousand pounds (£10,000)] (indexed) on any of the Required Insurances or which, but for the application of the applicable policy excess, would be made on any of the Required Insurances and (if required by the Authority) give full details of the incident giving rise to the claim180; and

64.7.2  in relation to all claims relating to the Required Insurances, give the Authority details of the value and nature of all such claims as may from time to time be required by the Authority provided always that such information shall be supplied by the Contractor no less frequently than once every three (3) months.

180 On projects on which many claims are expected, the Authority can agree a minimum amount below which it is not notified.  If this is done, it may be necessary for the Authority to be notified of important claims (e.g. accident and injury based claims).
