6 It is important that the Certification process requires all the Illuminated Traffic Signs in an area to be removed/replaced in line with the requirements of the Output Specification prior to the street/area being Certified. This is the case even if the PS1 Adjustment excludes Illuminated Traffic Signs. Therefore a separate column may be included for Illuminated Traffic Signs. CIP Apparatus should be defined as the Existing Apparatus which is to be replaced as part of the CIP Service - usually Lighting Columns or Lighting Points. On a project specific basis, the Authority may wish to treat Illuminated Traffic Signs separately.
