1. Service Requirements
1.1 The Contractor shall produce a Child Protection Policy which shall include the procedure to be followed in the event of inappropriate behaviour by a member of Staff towards a child or young person or a formal allegation being made against a Staff member by User of the Facility.
1.2 The Child Protection Policy shall be prominently displayed at the Facility in an area where it can easily be seen and read by the Users.
1.3 A staff code of conduct shall be put in place which sets the requisite standards of behaviour by Staff towards children and young people and appropriate training in child protection shall form part of the Staff induction training and the Training and Development Plan. Such training shall equip Staff to identify children and young people at risk and inappropriate behaviour towards children and young people by adults (including teachers, parents, carers and guardians).
1.4 The Contractor shall designate a Child Protection Officer who shall operate within the Facility. This person shall be suitably qualified, trained and hold sufficient authority and status to manage Staff conduct-related issues, make referrals to a Social Care Officer and/or the Police Child Abuse Investigation Team, including in instances of allegations against Staff.
1.5 The Contractor shall ensure that its recruitment and selection policy and procedures take account of its obligation under clause 31 (Employees General) of this Agreement and any relevant Legislation, Guidance and Authority Policies.
