2 Service Requirements
2.1 The Service Provider will provide a comprehensive Utilities Management Service on a 24 hours a day 365(6) days per year basis to meet the requirements of the Authority's operations. The Service will be based on the principles of sustainable development to:
• optimise the use of energy within the Facilities;
• provide an environmentally friendly solution wherever practicably or economically possible; and
• ensure that the provision of all utilities is continuously maintained throughout the Service Period.
2.2 The Service Provider will manage the Utility Services.
2.3 The Service Provider will be responsible for:
(a) securing and maintaining connections to Utility Provider services of adequate capacity to supply the requirements of the Authority under all anticipated operating conditions;
(b) ensuring Utility Services supply specifications are consistent with the requirements of the Authority operations;
(c) undertaking all testing, cleaning and maintenance as required by the Utility Provider;
(d) arranging for standby provisions for electricity, heating and water to cater for those eventualities where Utility Provider connections are unable to meet the demand placed on them.
